Beth Young – Education Coordinator South

Beth Young has joined the Nurse Aide Testing staff in the Office of Workforce Innovation and Research at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. She believes nursing assistant education is an integral part of bringing competent, skilled, and compassionate nursing assistants into the field of healthcare. Beth is responsible for conducting clinical site visits in the Southern Region under the direction of the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH); developing and updating standardized workshop training materials; updating and revising the Illinois Nurse Aide Training Program curriculum in conjunction with IDPH and the Certified Nursing Assistant Advisory Committee; and coordinating, co-hosting, and/or presenting at nurse aide workshops and conferences across the state. She enjoys teaching and learning and is looking forward to working with program coordinators and nursing assistant instructors throughout the state. Beth, a registered nurse of 24 years is a Certified Nursing Assistant Educator, holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Healthcare and Nursing Administration.
